Known for putting ‘the fun in insurance’, Markerstudy, which has headquarters in Bessels Green, recently celebrated its rapid growth and achievements over the last year with its third annual ‘Markerstudy Day’, raising more than £1,500 for charity.
Some 3,000 Markerstudy Group employees from Auto Windscreens to Zenith Insurance threw themselves into the spirit of the day. At offices in Tunbridge Wells a ‘bake-off’ was held and staff dressed in festival themed outfits, raising funds for SANDS Charity and Cancer Research UK. Further afield in Essex, employees collected donations and took part in quizzes and competitions in aid of Chelmsford Food Bank.
Across the country, and as far afield as Gibraltar, employees arrived at their places of work dressed as animals, in football kits, evening wear and in Vegas-inspired outfits. Staff arranged ping-pong championships, cake sales, food collections, raffles and in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, even staged ‘weddings’ in an office-based ‘Little Chapel’, raising money for causes including Rain Animal Rescue, Chesterfield Food Bank and Help for Heroes.
Lizzie Smith-Foreman, Head of Group Marketing and Communications, said: “This year, Markerstudy Group celebrates its 14th anniversary. 2014 got off to a phenomenal start when we were placed 11th and won the ‘Giving Something Back’ accolade at The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For awards and we were keen to continue our ‘feel good’ year by celebrating our growth and success. Markerstudy Day is the perfect way to thank all our staff for their hard work and raise money for good causes at the same time. In true Markerstudy style, everyone joined in and put the ‘fun’ into fundraising!”
