Known for putting ‘the fun into insurance’, Markerstudy Group of Companies, which has headquarters in Bessels Green, recently celebrated its rapid growth and achievements over the last year with its fourth annual ‘Markerstudy Day’, raising more than £5,000 for charity.
Some 4,000 Markerstudy employees from Auto Windscreens to Zenith Insurance threw themselves into the spirit of the day with a variety of fund raising activities. At offices in Tunbridge Wells a ‘bake-off’ and festival area were organised by staff who dressed up with the theme, ‘Make a Song and Dance About It!’ to raise money for Hospice in the Weald.
Across the country, and as far afield as Gibraltar, employees arrived at their places of work dressed as dance acts, Disney characters and rock stars. Staff arranged bingo championships, cake sales, food collections, raffles and in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, even had a lip syncing competition, raising money for local charity, Joel, which offers support to bereaved parents.
Lizzie Smith-Foreman, Head of Group Marketing and Communications, said: “This is our second year as 11th ‘Best Company to Work For’ (Sunday Times Top 100 list) and on ‘Markerstudy Day’ we make sure we ‘put the ‘fun’ into fundraising’. Our annual event is the perfect way to reward our staff for their hard work and raise money for good causes at the same time. ”
