Markerstudy Group recently held an Insight Day with education charity Future First (10th February), welcoming students from the City of Peterborough Academy to its Peterborough office for a day of career-focused activities.
21 students aged 15 and older had the opportunity to learn more about the insurance industry and Markerstudy Group. Students were split into groups for a careers carousel offering them deeper insights into specific sectors of the business, including IT, Marketing & Communications, Legal and Customer Service. Alongside this, students were given the chance to brush up their job application skills with practical advice shared to help them stand out from the crowd.
Lizzie Smith-Foreman, Chief Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Officer at Markerstudy, comments: “We’ve partnered with Future First for nearly five years and through our relationship, we’ve been able to showcase the myriad opportunities on offer in the insurance industry. We’re passionate about supporting our local communities as well as the next generation of talent, and these days allow us to help students gain new skills and knowledge that will help them as they begin their careers, whichever career path they take.”
Positive feedback from the students showed that 83% of students rated the day as "Excellent" or "Good." 75% said they now felt more confident contacting someone who works in a job that interests them and the same percentage said they feel better equipped to make decisions about their future. The students also praised the Markerstudy representatives, with multiple noting they were ‘down to earth" and "passionate’ with 83% valuing the personal advice shared.
