  • New hybrid customer service roles now available at award-winning contact centre

Fresh from its successful acquisition by one of the UK’s largest insurance groups, leading city employer, BGL Insurance, has announced major new growth plans with the reveal of over 100 new jobs. BGL Insurance is a digital distributor of insurance and household financial services and home to some of the UK’s leading finance brands. The new roles will be split across two of its contact centres in Peterborough and Sunderland, with new recruits delivering multi-channel customer service support.

BGL Insurance, which has recently been acquired by the Markerstudy Group, has delivered a strong performance this financial year, with ambitious plans to drive further growth into 2023 and beyond with its new owner. With more than six million customers combined, the new hybrid Customer Experience roles will be pivotal in helping the business to not only maintain its market-leading position, they will also support in the delivery of the growth.

Laura Mullaney, Customer Director at BGL Insurance, said: “Now is an ideal time to join BGL Insurance as together with the Markerstudy Group, we have ambitious plans. We are extremely proud of our Customer Experience colleagues, who are the faces behind many of the brands that UK consumers know and trust. The financial services sector is a fast paced and exciting industry to develop a career in and having recently invested in our training and talent programmes, along with the benefits packages offered to colleagues, there has never been a more exciting time to join BGL Insurance.”

Gary Humphreys, Group Chief Underwriting Officer at Markerstudy, adds: “As the integration of some group functions completes we are exploring other value-add opportunities that our partnership can deliver.

One such opportunity is the space available in BGLi’s Peterborough and Sunderland contact centres which provide multi-channel customer service and importantly, the potential to fulfil wider group vacancies.

Enhancing the proposition for our 6 million+ customers will deliver the targeted additional growth in BGLi, alongside our broader expansion plans.”

Rasila Panchal, Customer Experience Representative, added: “I’ve worked for BGL Insurance for over four years now, starting in sales and progressing to customer services and renewals for car and van insurance. Throughout my time here, I’ve have had plenty of opportunities to develop my role further, by doing ongoing knowledge and training programmes. We are continually looking at ways to improve and we hold regular sessions to share our views and feedback on how we can make the customer experience even better. I also love that BGLi provides two days a year to volunteer in our local communities. From a reward perspective, we regularly receive vouchers and treats in recognition for our hard work, which is great!”

The new roles are designed to be hybrid, meaning colleagues will work both in the office and from home, so if you are looking to become a part of an exciting growth story, click here for more information.
